I know that my first sentence of my entry is always the same "It has been ages since i last blogged", indeed, i have left this blog stagnant for quite some time as i have been rather or very busy with stuffs that are going on around me and my life.. i need a break!

First and foremost, I am back to Exeter already.. Its really alot of mixed feelings about being back to UK. I am really delighted to see all my friends in Uni and of course, my flatmates from last year, but at the same time, i am really sad to say goodbye to my friends in Singapore.. It just seem that i havent spent enough time with them when i got back last time round as i have been so busy at work.. Nevertheless, there were really good moments!

Exeter... this time round feels so different as I have moved out of halls into a student house with 6 other guys. Its really much more fun being able to live together in a house, sitting in the living room playing games etc.. And of course, I still have my regular dinner sessions with the girls which saves me 2 days of cooking! fantastic! This semester for me is really hectic.. i have lessons like every single day and it starts at 9am! --> This means that i have to wake up at 7+ as it takes like 30min for me to walk to uni..

My Room.. Double bed + Fireplace. Really nice and big!

Ok, i wrote the following when i was waiting for a coach back to Exeter like 2 weeks ago but was too busy to post it:

Time really flies and its time to fly back to UK again. I really do appreciate the effort and time that many of my friends spent to either get a gift for me or even to send me off at the airport. Indeed, it was really difficult to say goodbye as we had so much fun together. It was a lot of mixed feelings on the very day that I have to fly off to London; a lot of excitement of what’s next for this new academic year and also a lot of negative feelings because I will definitely miss those that are dear to me.

Well, now that I am back, there are loads to be done. After the 13 hrs flight from Singapore, I will need to take the coach for another 5 hrs to my godparents place to collect my car, then drive an hour back to Exeter to my new accommodation, which means more cleaning and unpacking. Gosh, it is so tiring just to think of it but I am really looking forward to settling down back into this slow and relaxed student life.

These 4 months (Jun – Oct) back in Singapore has been very different from the previous one. Probably its because after spending so much time overseas, I start to appreciate what our beautiful country brings for us and most importantly of course, cherish the time that I have with my friends and family. It has really been a great 4 months, in terms of work related matters and spending some very enjoyable times with my friends and family.

It was really great to see friends whom I have not seen for ages and to catch up on current happenings and of course, to talk about the fun times we had together. I have no idea why, but we seem to repeat several jokes multiple times but its still as funny! Probably those are the memorable times that would remain in the hearts of many.

My Vacation Attachment this time round has been very beneficial and different from my previous one. Not only did I learn new things about my job from my very inspiring boss, I also learnt many important life lessons from him. He is one of the rare bosses who will spend time teaching you things that people don’t otherwise want to share! Also, not forgetting my fun-loving colleagues from the office, it seems as if we have been working together for a long time as we had so much laughter and fun. It was really difficult to say goodbye during my last day, even though I was quite looking forward to clearing my leave.

And probably, the most significant achievement for myself during this 4 months break is that I am finally back on the road again! The agony of needing to go through all the driving lessons, behave like a newbie and worry about the next test date is finally over! I can say that this whole issue has been haunting me for about 4 years, from the day my license was revoked! What a relief, this whole episode is finally over. Of course, it was a painful lesson learnt that I will never forget and is something that I always tell my friends or anyone around me. It is such a painful process to lose your license once you have gotten used to driving around, dumping things in the car and being able to go out for late suppers. Thus, my friends, please drive carefully, especially in Singapore!

Well, thats about all I have for now.. Hopefully i will find time to record down impt stuffs of my life..

i am back! after almost a month.. well, again, have been really busy @ work.. phew.. but anyway, these few weeks has been really.. reflective and rather emotional..

met up with many people whom i have not met for a loong time and most of them look so familiarly strange.. i actually had to stare at them to make sure that i capture their faces in my memory and to check if they are the ones that i know.. time flew past so quickly, its almost unbelievable! people seems to have changed and in some cases, aged so much!

back to my thoughts for national day.. erm, actually i didnt appreciate singapore as much until i went overseas.. then did i realise how nice SG is and really as what the TV advs always says "a place to call home".. i really dont know how to describe my feelings when i watched the NDP.. i feel soo proud.. this feeling was the strongest when i was in Dartmouth for my training.. being able to watch NDP06 on DVD sent by my parents was like a blessing to me! cool!

on a lighter note, it was my mums bday on thurs and my boss has kindly given me off on that day. this meant i could MAMBO the night before!! it was fantastic!! has been so long since i MAMBO and i really have to say i enjoyed it so much.. but again, have to admit that i am getting old! i felt sooo tired after the whole sessions. my legs felt as thou i went for a 10km run! unbelievable.. the best thing is, i managed to get jimmy to join us, to show him the singapore mambo jambo! he was totally amazed! haha

some pics.. and it was an absolutely brilliant night!

Again, it has been quite a long time since i last updated my blog as I have been really busy with work and of course with catching up with everyone. I have decided that I will not go out today as I am really quite exhausted by the outings, even though i enjoyed them so much. Work has been very very tiring as usual and by the end of each day, i felt so drained of energy. However so, i dragged myself out to maximise my time.. I always tell my friends when we go out on a sunday that i hate sundays coz monday is approaching!

Anyway, we had a great day yest as it was Paul's bday celebration at his house! Mahjong + pot luck + movie + supper .. have to admit that we are old already.. We all felt sooo tired by 3am. Imagine the days whereby we went out till 6am, went home to change and went straight for class.. It will never happen again!

firstly, i needa clear the cobwebs in my blog as i realised that it has been a long time since i last blogged! Well, i was rather busy when i was back in Exeter as there were exams and i have to prepare to move out of my room and there were loads of packing to do! I think the exam when quite alright.. hopefully i would be able to score for them! the last two days in Exeter was an absolute nightmare as it was soo rush for me.. Had an exams on wed which ended @ 1615, and i have 1 hour to shift all my stuffs to darwin's place before i pick up you cai and company @ 1800 who stayed over @ my place for the night.. went to Dartmouth to see Ian and Bernard's passing out parade and then rushed back to catch the train! I was so worried that we couldnt make it for the train.. by then, i was absolutely shattered already! Finally made it to the airport and then onto the plane after like 6hrs of traveling and waiting.. out of the 13 hours flight, i think i was only awake for about 3 hours, for the take off and landing, and food!

Arrived @ Singapore Changi Airport and was greeted by a warm gush of air. Oh gosh, it felt sooo good to be home although part of me misses Exeter! but well, i didnt waste anytime and went straight to meet my poly gang after dinner with my parents. Sat and Sun was spent catching up with my friends and then reported for work on Monday.. Its soo tiring @ work.. i supposed its more mental rather than physical! My body felt like its gonna break apart when i come back from work everyday! Well.. its the weekends and luckily i managed to meet up with paul and zq on fri for some food and shopping, which i bought nuthing.. haha. Massage @ msia with the midshipmen on sat was awesome! it was also such a great opportunity to catch up with them!

went to visit Ms peh's grave today as her anniversary was on the 19th.. time really flies man.. it felt as though i have got much to tell her when i look @ her picture but i also dont know those words are... but i just think that life is so fragile.. we then went off to bugis for some KTV session which was fantastic! it has been sooo long since i last went to KTV! totally enjoyed it.. and that was followed by some shopping which i finally bought my slippers and shoes and some t-shirts..

well, i guess i will post some pictures up when i have the time.. its gonna be another busy week ahead!!

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

this will be another post without any pictures as nothing much has happened in my life these few weeks except the fact that I have been sick since last week. Guess what, I am still sick, but at least (touch wood), i am feeling slightly better and have the appetite to eat. Talking about eating, I just realised that i havent been cooking for sooo long. Had either been eating out or when i eat in, it was jess and emily's turn to cook! anyway i am running out of ideas what to cook and what to buy etc.. now i understand the pain of my mum when she complained that she didnt know what to cook!

Its almost exams time and I am still not really studying hard as I have got 3 papers within 4 weeks. The good thing is, I finally made a start on my study today! For the past weeks, i was either too sick to do anything or when i had the energy, i was kinda busy with my coursework. hopefully i will be able to make good progress for my studies this week!

I was in the resturant and suddenly saw this women having a fit and vomitting white foam. The lucky thing is, professional help came really quick! This incident reminded me that life is actually so unpredictable and fragile. Just a split second, you might lose your life and everything! how scary can that be?! Valuable lesson for myself: treasure every single second and enjoy whatever we are doing.. by doing so, at least, if I die any moment (touch wood),i will have no regrets hopefully! haha.

It has been sometime since i last wrote something here.. Easter holidays was great but it went past too quickly.. Now we are into the 2nd week of term already! Nothing much has happened except that I have been really sick for the past ... 7 days? For the first time in 2 yrs, I actually felt like going home! Here is what happened:

Last Wed: Fell sick, caught a cold
Last Sat: Felt really really ill, went to see the doc. The nurse didnt even examine me, didnt check my temp, didnt check anything.. I told her my symptoms and she was like "oh, signs of virus infections. You will be fine after a few days of being very ill." --> Thanks, that was totally helpful.. I then asked her if i should take any medication. she said "you can take paracetomol and some cough syrup if you want".

Anyway this session was totally helpful.. not only did it waste my time getting to town but it also demoralised me even more! sick but no medication! Since then, i have finished a pack of Panadol Cold and a pack of Panadol Acti-fast and I am still sick! I then decided to go to the doc in Uni.. Well, guess what the response was? "Paracetomol"! But at least this time, she did examine me and told me that I am running a temperature but there is nuthing much they can do abt it..

haiz.. if only i am in Singapore, i will get cured within a week! I think i am dependent on panadol now coz as long as i dont take it, i feel really crap... cant wait to get back to spore!!
